Jim Vlock Building Project with Adam HopfnerCollaboration with Lucas Boyd and the Yale Building Project
During the summer of 2015, the first-year students of the Yale School of Architecture collaborated in the design and construction of a single-family dwelling in New Haven, Connecticut. Along with my colleague Lucas Boyd, I was responsible for the design and fabrication of the house's extensive cabinetry and plywood wall surfaces. While working with an advanced CNC millwork system, we were able to mill, finish, and install all the needed building components well within the project's schedule. This was accomplished by utilizing, as much as possible, standardized cabinetry components within customized configurations.
